Mgwirizano Savings and Loans Group (SLG) from Tsabola Village, Traditional Authority (TA) Mbenje in Nsanje District has made significant progress in financial growth and independence.

The 25-member group has enabled the individual participants to earn a substantial income through various small-scale businesses they ventured into after accessing soft loans from the group. The group is comprised of beneficiaries of the Social Cash Transfer Programme (#SCTP). The group aims to support its members to graduate and achieve financial independence and sustainability.

The #SLG component is one of the interventions being implemented under the Social Protection for Gender Empowerment and Resilience (SP-Gear) Project, which is being funded by UNICEF, the European Union, and the government of Ireland.
